1. Overview

UQ Medicine supports our academic and clinician researchers to manage their grant submissions by providing an extra layer of support between researchers and UQ Research & Innovation processes. We understand the complexities of conducting research in a clinical environment. Our role is to:

  • provide advice and information on UQ and external research funding opportunities and processes through our weekly research newsletter;
  • ensure that investigators meet eligibility requirements and that research proposals can be supported financially and with appropriate facilities, and appropriately administered within UQ Medicine;
  • arrange school ranking, review or recommendation of applications when required by a funding scheme; and
  • arrange Head of School certification of all funding applications submitted via the School of Medicine.

About the UQ Research and Innovation Office

UQ Research and Innovation Office is UQ's one-stop-shop for all matters relating to research. It helps in a variety of ways by:

  • reviewing eligibility, compliance and legal implications of applications before arranging UQ-level certification and submission of applications.
  • recording applications and outcomes,
  • initiating processes and recording awarded grants prior to processing by the School and finance department.
