The Centre for Research in Geriatric Medicine has collected data on 6500 older inpatients at premorbid and admission time points, using Comprehensive electronic Geriatric Assessment (CeGA) . From this data, a frailty index for both these time points can be derived. The CeGA assessment also collects outcome data pertaining to length of stay, inpatient mortality and discharge destination. The aim of this project is to derive premorbid and admission frailty scores and compare their ability to predict adverse outcomes in older hospitalised patients.

Prerequisite skills: There are no prerequisite skills, however a background in Mathematics or Research would be highly regarded.

Time frame: This project is available immediately, but the start date can accommodate the study timeframes of a suitable Research Higher Degree student.
