Susan is a research assistant at the University of Queensland's APHCRI Centre for Research Excellence in Primary Health Care Microsystems on a project investigating the evidence-practice gap in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) postnatal care provision by general practitioners.
She has also assisted with the evaluation of the Urban LlnCC Project.
She has a background in social work and public health. After training as a social worker, Susan worked in a variety of community health settings. She subsequently completed further study in health promotion and international public health and has worked as a research assistant and project manager on a range of health related projects in Canada, Western Australia and Queensland.
She has more than 10 years experience in GP education having worked with Divisions of General Practice and The Cancer Council. Susan's research interest and involvement is in capacity building of personnel working in primary health care.
