Phase 1 - Campus learning

During Phase 1 of the MD, students are taught foundation knowledge and skills in preparation for medical practice. During this time, students work in small groups around a planned series of cases to highlight principles and issues in health and disease. In Year 1, most of the learning activities take place at UQ's St Lucia campus. In Year 2, students are predominantly based at one of three clinical units (Royal Brisbane, Mater, and PA-Southside).

Phase 2 - Practical learning

Phase two of the program is taught across 11 Academic Disciplines with opportunities for students to undertake placements within our clinical schools in Queensland and New Orleans (USA). Thanks to our wide network of international partners, students also have the opportunity to undertake clinical placements overseas.
