Ochsner student orientation

This section contains complete details for Ochsner students transitioning to Phase 2 at the Ochsner Clinical School.

NOTE: Students may experience difficulties accessing some of the websites needed to complete orientation requirements, if still in Australia or outside of the U.S. For many complex reasons, some sites are not always accessible everywhere in Australia. The sites are definitely accessible on campus at St. Lucia and Herston, and anywhere in the CBD of Brisbane. Please also try using different internet browsers.

4. Health screenings

The Ochsner Clinical School has established mandatory procedures and immunizations that must be met by all of our students before they may participate in any clinical program or activity. All Ochsner Cohort students entering Year 3 are required to undergo health screenings during orientation and onboarding, prior to beginning any clinical rotation. Students have been randomly assigned for health screenings for Wednesday and Thursday, January 3 & 4, 2018. The Student Health Screening Schedule has been posted on the Ochsner Phase 2 Community Site on Blackboard.

The following tests will be conducted:

  • Drug Screening (Photo ID required)
  • TB Test (QuantiFERON Gold)
  • Flu Shot
  • DTap (Diptheria, Tetanus, Pertussis) - if needed
  • Mask Fitting (Men should shave for mask fitting)
  • Color Vision

Professional attire is required as professional photo headshots will be taken during this time. Please plan accordingly and dress appropriately. All men must wear ties.
