About Gayndah

Gayndah is quiet and unrushed, but there is a lot more to this old town than meets the eye. As the oldest town in Queensland, it also claims a murder mystery, elusive bear sightings, unusual street signs, and a whole lot of oranges (as the ‘Orange Capital of Queensland’).

Close-by attractions include;

  • Orange Festival (biennial)
  • McConnell Lookout
  • Historic Iderway Upside Down Bridge
  • Ban Ban Springs

Testimonials

The preceptor was a fantastic role model to learn from and allowed me to get involved and perform procedural skills + practice reviewing patients myself. The Gayndah Hospital staff were great at allowing me to get involved with procedural skills and reviewing patients

Overall, I had a great experience during my time in Gayndah, both in the hospital on placement and exploring the town and being involved with the community.

I have had a great time during my six weeks in Gayndah. The hospital was recently refurbished, so the facilities were excellent. All hospital and allied health staff were welcoming and friendly, and made me feel like part of the team. My preceptor was extremely approachable, eager to teach and provided plenty of opportunities for hands-on practice. I am very thankful for his supervision during my time here.
