Why Sunshine Coast?

  • Purpose-built student learning environment: A purpose-built environment has been created for the clinical unit and students at the Sunshine Coast Academic and Research Centre (SCARC). The SCARC includes a large common room, dedicated computer laboratory, tutorial rooms and video-conference facilities
  • Renowned for excellence in clinical teaching: Our clinical teaching team demonstrates enthusiasm and talent and has twice won the UQ Medical Society/School of Medicine Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award.
  • Focus on preparation for internship: In addition to the Discipline teaching programs, the Sunshine Coast Clinical Unit provides a linked curriculum tutorial series for third and fourth year students to prepare for internship.
  • Scenario-based learning facility: the facility allows students to complete clinical based competencies with no risk to real patients. It challenges clinicians to review how they communicate with each other and ensures that students are trained to provide excellence in medical care with minimal clinical errors.

The Sunshine Coast Clinical Unit Research Group is situated in the Sunshine Coast Clinical Unit.
