Bundaberg City is centred on picturesque Burnett River at the southern tip of the Great Barrier Reef.  It is the provincial hub of a vibrant and unique region. The region’s notable features include equable climate, relaxed and inviting lifestyle, affordable living, modern shopping facilities and plentiful tourism destinations. The people are friendly and welcoming and make this area a superb place to live and learn.

Bundaberg is approximately a four-hour drive or only a 45-minute flight north of Queensland's capital, Brisbane.

"The smaller hospital size means that clinicians all know you and the smaller student cohort means that you get plenty of one-on-one face time with them. I'm sure I've done a lot more hands-on and point-of-care clinical work than many Brisbane students would do."
Former Yr 3 Bundaberg  student

Joining the learning program at Bundaberg will provide a unique learning experience. A dedicated team of academic clinicians working across public, private and community sectors draw upon all the resources of the local health care community. Clinical placements are available at the Bundaberg Hospital, Mater Misericordiae Hospital, The Friendly Society Private Hospital, and in approved Teaching Practices. As well, community health services provide a range of  distinctive learning opportunities. The clinical training team is committed to assisting students to become interested, safe, caring and competent clinicians.

Bundaberg has been a lot of fun... plenty to see and do, and I've had some of the most memorable times of my life up here. You become very close to the group of students you live with... whether or not you knew them before, you really do form some very close bonds. I won't soon forget a lot of what I've learned up here, both in and out of a medical context."
Former Yr 3 Bundaberg student.
